Feeling overwhelmed by teaching in a world currently disrupted by AI? You’re not alone. This compact course offers a clear, approachable entry point into teaching with AI. Instead of diving into technical details, we will focus on the big picture: how AI can support your teaching without taking over.
You’ll learn how to use AI tools to plan more efficiently, how to integrate AI into your classes in meaningful ways, and how to adapt your assessments to ensure fairness and depth. We’ll also explore what students need to know to use AI responsibly and effectively—without becoming passive or dependent.
This course won’t make you an AI expert, and that’s the point: it’s designed to reduce overwhelm, build confidence, and help you get started. By the end, you’ll feel more grounded and ready to make informed, intentional choices about AI in your teaching.
Designed as a flipped classroom, the course includes 4 hours of self-paced learning followed by a 2-hour live session where we reflect, share, and plan your next steps.
- Planning with AI: From blank page to course plan
- Teaching with AI: Sample prompts and class activities
- Assessment and AI: Designing with AI in mind
- AI Literacy: What students (and teachers) need to know
Participants use AI tools to streamline course and session planning; they identify simple ways to incorporate AI into classroom activities; design assessments that address and embrace AI use; and understand key concepts of AI literacy and how to teach them.
The only prerequisites are the ability to participate in an online workshop (microphone, Internet connection etc.) and an interest in teaching.
